Latest update of Big Sur 11.2.
Audacity 2.4.2
Since the latest Big Sur update a couple of days ago Audacity won't open at all having worked perfectly (more or less) for the last few months.
Audacity Start Up failure.
Unrecoverable error has occurred during start up.
I desperately need to get Audacity up and running asap as I've deadlines to meet. Can anyone help? I reinstalled Audacity just in case but nothing.
Thanks.
unrecoverable error....

Re: unrecoverable error....
That sounds like it could be related to this bug: https://www.timesnownews.com/technology ... xes/682694
Do you have a Time Machine backup made before that update?

Sadly no. And thanks for the link.
Re: unrecoverable error....
You could try doing a manual reset of Audacity.
Go to the folder
(where "~/" means your home folder)
and delete the three files:
Go to the folder
Code: Select all
~/Library/Application Support/audacity/and delete the three files:
- audacity.cfg
- pluginregistry.cfg
- pluginsettings.cfg
