Hi I am new here and to Audacity. I have read the manual and seen tutorials on how to set the Latency correction. I have gotten almost all the way there, however when I go to "Edit" to access the "Perferences-Devices" tab, there is no option under 'edit" for "Preferences" so I am stuck.
I'm using Mac OS 10.15.7 and Audacity 2.4.2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

On a Mac, Preferences is under the "Audacity" Menu.

Thanks, but that is exactly the problem...there is no "Preferences" choice in the Audacity "Edit" dropdown menu on my copy of it anyway.???

Not the "Edit" menu, the "Audacity" menu (first menu after the apple).
On macOS, that's the standard place for an app's "Preferences".
