RECORDING CUTS OFF AFTER 5 SECONDS

Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.

RECORDING CUTS OFF AFTER 5 SECONDS

I'm using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 and Audacity 2.4.2

My recording cuts off at exactly 5 seconds every time I try to record with no explanation - see attached.

(The 5 seconds it does record sounds perfect!)

Do you literally mean: Exactly 5.000 seconds?

What does Allen & Heath have to say?

Have you tried recording with QuickTime?

Do you have any trial / demo plug-ins installed?

Does your Mac have a built in mic? If it does, try recording from the mic to see if the same thing happens.
