I was editing an Audacity(2.4.2) file on my Mac (10.15.7), when I played back a section of my audiobook recording. The sound had been normal, at a good volume, but all of a sudden it became incredibly loud, a little echo-y and fuzzy. I wasn’t aware of having changed a setting to make it like that, though I might have done something accidentally. Anyone know how to get back to the normal it used to be? I did have a back-up duplicate which is still normal, but I’d like to change the out-of-whack one back to avoid having to do all the editing I did again. Thanks in advance!
Perhaps you accidentally moved the “Track Gain” slider (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audio_tracks.html#gain)
Yes, thank you! Changing the gain slider made all the difference. I’m learning through my mistakes!
