Error opening sound device.

I'm actually using Big Sur.
I just installed Audacity and FFmpeg. I've tried all the suggestions in the manual, but it still is not working.

What is not working? What are you trying to record from? What is the exact error message (including the error code number)?
FFmpeg has nothing to do with recording.

Try recording something. The Mac system may ask you to give Audacity permission to use the microphone. Grant it. Then see if you can play back.

I checked the the sampling rate as the error suggests, and this is was I saw.

Try setting the input to 16-bit integer both in Audacity and in Audio MIDI Setup.

I assume that you are using "Built-in Output" for playback (?)
What are the settings for the "Built-in Output"?
