I'm not sure how to fix this hum issue. Despite the large amount of noise reduction I apply, there's still a lot of hum.

Here's the new voice file: https://voca.ro/1nZrVmpm2lLZ
That sounds much better: no distortion.

IMO needs some treble boost, (if you do that de-essing will be necessary)

snownman, before-after.flac
"after" is EQ'd , compressed & de-essed.

You should probably stay here. This will give us handy history without going all over looking for the original posts.

My Gain level is set to 6/11.
Where are the green and yellow lights when you announce?

Did you ever do an actual formal forum voice test? Read down the blue links. They're very short.

You can post that here on the forum.

I didn't do a forum test. I did all my testing in Audacity itself.

As for the green and yellow lights, they reach up to the ninth dot.

Conveniently enough, the Yeti manual doesn't tell me which lights are what color.

But they do tell me which colors are supposed to be lit. All the greens and an occasional yellow and no red. Is what what you have?

And just to fill in the gaps, since you have a Yeti in color and I don't. The first 8 are green, 9, and 10 are yellow and 11 is red? Yell once to make them all light up to check. Yelling is not harmful to the microphone. Never, ever blow into a microphone. Blowing is a good way to create expensive trash.

What I mean is announce a standard test from that panel with your Yeti on your machine in your room. Cut it down to length if needed and export a normal, standard WAV sound file and post it on the forum.

That will tell us tons about how your system is working and let us post valuable recommendations.

Now here's a new clip!

https://voca.ro/1hbGHcNUepYA

Parameters:
  • Noise Reduction: 8 dB
  • Sensitivity: 12.50
  • Frequency smoothing: 2 bands
  • Amplification: 2.4 dB
  • Normalize: 0.0 dB
I think I feel pretty good about using this audio.

As-is that's better than most YouTube audio.

But, IMO, only 8/10.
I'm deducting points for excessive sibilance, (curable with de-essing),
and reverberation from the room, which can be reduced, (but not cured), with an expander like couture.
(Too much expansion will erode the speech: attenuating the start & ends of words).

greetingS, before-after.flac
"after" is de-essed with desibilator, & expanded with couture to reduce room reverb.

Is this after noise reduction? Any other processing?

Can you post a raw reading? There's just nothing like having two collections of effects and filters fighting each other. If it hums we need to hear the hum. Noise Reduction is not always a cure-all.

I don't hear any sibilance and the spectrum has no "essing haystack." But yes I do hear a little recording in the kitchen echo.

And slow it down. It's rough to hear distortions between words WhenYouJamThemAllTogetherLikeThat.

Leave a second or two of hold-your-breath silence.

You don't need a foreign file server if you keep it under 10 or 12 seconds. You can post it here.
