Hi
Im new too Audacity. Ive been recording some messages using my iPhone 11 and attache Shure condenser microphone, but I'm still getting back ground noise. How do I remove it. Im using iMac running Catalina 10.15.6

Is the background noise constant (such as distant traffic, air conditioner hum) or does it vary (such as nearby traffic, people talking, random noises). Sometimes you can remove the constant background noise with the Noise Reduction effect. The solution for varying noise is to choose a quieter recording location.
