I've had a weird recording issue develop on my MacBook Air. If my USB mic is plugged in, and my headphones are plugged into it, I can hear myself. The microphone/speaker settings in Audacity show the mic/headphones. However, when I click the record button, silence. The track shows a flatline. The same is true if I try and use the laptop internal mic/speakers (changing the Audacity settings to select them, obviously), so I think the issue is Audacity rather than my hardware.
I have tried quitting the program and restarting it and rescanning audio devices, but nothing helps. I've been using Audacity for several years now, so know my way around pretty well. I've never had an issue like this. All I can think to do now is deinstall and reinstall Audacity but that's a bit of a pain and not something I really want to do unless absolutely essential. HELP! Thanks!
