I have come across a couple of annoying bugs in Audacity 2.4.0, which as we known is temporarily withdrawn.
– Keyboard focus problem when creating labels on Mac OS 10.15. (New in 2.4.0).
– Impossible to open files in Audacity from Finder while Audacity is running: Mac OS 10.15. (Was present in later versions of 2.3).
Where should these reports be made in detail? In this forum, or in "2.x feedback"?
Is it better to wait until 2.4.1 comes out before making any reports?

Re: Which forum for bug reports?
I just tested on the newly-released 2.4.1Universalis wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 1:04 pm– Keyboard focus problem when creating labels on Mac OS 10.15. (New in 2.4.0).
From what I can see 2.4.1 on Mac appears to work the same with labels as 2.3.3
and the same with labels as W10
Use Case 1
1) set a label with Cmd+B or Cmd+M
2) Observe focus is on the new (empty label)
3) type label text
4) Observe focus remains on label
5) click Enter
6) Observe focus removed from label
Use Case 2
1) turn on "Type to create a label" in Tracks Behaviors preferences
2) create a label track
3) position cursor in label track
4) type some text
5) Observe label is created with the text from 4 in it
6) Observe focus remains on label
7) click Enter
8) Observe focus removed from label
As far as I know this is how it's supposed to work

Re: Which forum for bug reports?
Also testing on 2.4.1Universalis wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 1:04 pm– Impossible to open files in Audacity from Finder while Audacity is running: Mac OS 10.15. (Was present in later versions of 2.3).
I think I can see what you may be driving at.
1) Launch Audacity 2.4.1
2) close it
3) Observe: with Apples' odd behavior it is still technically "running" - see the little black dot under that Audacity icon in the toolbar
4) launch Finder
5) locate an audio file
6) right click it
7) choose Open With > Audacity 2.4.1.app
9) observe Audacity is not launched and the file is not imported
I can't make this work in 2.3.3 either - so not a regression on late 2.3.3 as you are suggesting
However on 2.3.3 if you omit step 2 and keep Audacity running AND open
then the file does (sometimes but not always) open in Audacity - but it's darn slow compared to
File>Import Audio ... or Click&Drag onto the Audacity window. But this never seems to work
with 2.4.0 or 2.4.1
The workaround is simple
If Audacity is open
1) Ctrl+N for new project
2) Click and drag from Finder to new project (or use File > Import Audio)
If Audacity is not open
1) launch Audacity
2) Click and drag from Finder to new project (or use File > Import Audio)

Re: Which forum for bug reports?
Testing 2.4.1 on W10
However you can use Open With from Windows Explorer on W10 with 2.4.1 when that app is already running
Audacity opens up a new project for it and imports the audio file.
You can even try using Open With > Audacity 2.3.3 while Audacity 2.4.1 is already running
Audacity opens up a new project for it and imports the audio file - but it is 2.4.1 NOT 2.3.3 (but that's what I'd kind of expect)
