Trying to record from vinyl to Mac

Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Trying to record from vinyl to Mac

I’ve gone through the Audacity Wiki page to ensure that my settings are correct.
Devices: MacBook Pro
macOS: Catalina
Version: 10.15.4
Output from turntable (RCA)
Input to Fono Mini A2D (RCA)
USB output from Fono Mini A2D
USB input to Mac
No sound detected when I attempt to record. Any suggestions?

macOS Catalina does not play well with Audacity 2.3.3. There is a workaround here.

Or you could wait a few days for Audacity 2.4.0 to be released, which works with Catalina.
