Problem downloading plugins

This forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Problem downloading plugins
With OS Catalina when I download a plugin from "https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Down ... s#download" I get a text file. I did this years ago but now I cannot seem to get the hang of it. I would appreciate any direction offered. Thank you.

"Nyquist plug-in" are just text files, but with a file extension (the part of the file name after the dot) of ".ny" rather than ".txt".
Unfortunately, Safari has a habit of adding ".txt" to the end of the file name.
Fortunately the "Nyquist Plug-in Installer" can fix that automatically.
