Help for Audacity on macOS.
Forum rules
This forum is for Audacity on macOS 10.4 and later.
Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at
https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the
1.2.x and
1.3.x forums.

Which model?
Rode-NT USB
Most Rode mics have very good SNR (signal to noise ratio).
Not finding any problems with the Rode SNR - it was my Samson C01U which had the hiss problem

The NT1-A USB has a "presence boost" in the range 2 to 10 kHz, rising to around +7 dB in the 5 to 6 Hz range.
This does not suit all voices and may overemphasize sibilance.
That presence boost may be countered by applying Equalization to reduce that range.
