"Make a copy" when overwriting existing option gone?

Help for Audacity on macOS.

"Make a copy" when overwriting existing option gone?

Is it me, or has the useful preference under Import/Export: "Make a copy of uncompressed audio files before editing (safer)" been removed?
If so, why!?

No that's not been removed.
The more dangerous option to "not make a copy" has been removed. Audacity now always makes a copy of imported audio.
