Not recognizing audio from turntable after Catalina Update

Here are two screenshots while the record is playing. Sounds recognizes the audio but Audacity does not. It was working fine before Catalina.

Everything looks standard other than not seeing the levels of audio when it is connected and not being able to hear or record the audio. When I click record the line starts moving but there is no fluctuation in the wave or audio being recorded.

Here you appear to say that Audacity records "silence". Is that not the case?

I've been following this thread and am having a similar issue with a cassette player. Sound picks up the audio, but Audacity does not. I am just new to Audacity, and just downloaded the most current version of it. I look forward to a resolution.

This topic is specifically about Catalina. Is that what you are using?

If you try to amplify that recorded track, what happens?
Does the Amplify effect say that the "New peak amplitude" will be "-Infinity", or can you actually amplify the track?

As Laerioske said he has the same problem, I'm wanting to know if he is using the same turntable as you.
