Plugins won't load. white screen

and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Plugins won't load. white screen
whenever loading a plugin it loads a white box without the plugin. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. can anyone please help me.
