Installing plugin Auto-Tune
I'm trying to install the plugin Auto-Tune. Haven't installed many plugins, and none lately. Can someone please walk me through the steps on installing it? I get lost somewhere between downloading it and installing it. Once I unzip the file, then what? Where is the icon that I drag into Audacity Plugins?
I got it here: https://www.antarestech.com/software-download/ It said to download both Auto-Tune Pro and AVOX4. Not sure why both. All I need is pitch correction. Using Mac OS 10.14.1 Audacity 2.3.0. Thanks. Tom in Texas

Re: Installing plugin Auto-Tune
Ok...I have gotten Auto-Tune to show up under my Effects menu. When I try to activate it, it gives this message: LICENSE ERROR - AUTO-TUNE 9 The software required to validate the license for this product is not running. Please reinstall the product or download and run the iLok License Manager Installer here: http://www.ilok.com
So...I have to do all that for a free plugin? All I want is pitch correction.

Re: Installing plugin Auto-Tune
Audacity does not support iLok.
Please check Autotune's website for supported host applications.

Re: Installing plugin Auto-Tune
Yes, I read and understood that the first time. Still, the messages continue saying I need iLok.
Re: Installing plugin Auto-Tune
Autotune plug-in requires iLok.
iLok only works in host applications that support iLok.
Audacity does not support iLok.
Therefore, it is not possible to run Autotune plug-in in Audacity.
iLok is a "security" (digital rights management) device that prevents plug-ins that are iLok protected from running on computers that are not authorised.
You can't run the authorisation with Audacity because Audacity does not support it.
In order to run Autotune plug-in, you need to run iLok with a host that supports it, so that you can then authorise the Autotune plug-in to run.
This has nothing to do with Audacity. Please refer to the Autotune and iLok documentation.
Does that make sense now?

Re: Installing plugin Auto-Tune
I just found the answer to my question. It is not compatible with Audacity. https://www.antarestech.com/host-daw-compatibility/
