I am attempting to manually uninstall Audacity and do a reinstall.
In doing so, I have located/moved 1 Audacity item file from Application Support to trash......and 2 Audacity files from Preferences to trash.
When I attempt to empty the 3 files in trash, 1 file remains in trash with this message:
The operation can't be completed because the item
"org.audacityteam.audacity.plst" is in use.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!!

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".

Try shutting down all applications, then shut down the computer and reboot.
