Controls all out of place in a big mess

Post by bsabiston » Mon Apr 01, 2019 2:33 pm

I downloaded version 2.3.1 and when I make a new file, all the control panels are piled up in a big jumble in the middle of the screen. How can I get them to appear in their default positions? It happens every time, even if I drag them by hand to new positions, then the next time I open a window they are piled up again.

Thanks!

I have the same problem! I don't understand "toolbars"- I click on my Audacity window, and up in my iMac menu bar I have "tools"- but when I pulldown, there is only "macros" "benchmark" Nyquist"- see screenshot----no "toolbars".

Do Tools > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.
I think that should be: "View menu > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars"
