Audacity suddenly automatically importing downloaded files

Hi. The Audacity program on my Mac has recently started to automatically import audio files that I download, even though I’ve never set it to do so. Is there any way to set it not to do automatic imports? Thanks.

Two things that you can do:

  1. Disable Safari’s ‘Open Safe Files After Downloading’ Feature.

  2. Associate the file type that Audacity is automatically opening with another application.
