Mac OS X 10.13.3 Audacity 2.2.2 Playback Audio

My playback audio only plays through the computer speakers. I can’t hear it at through my headphones (bluetooth) or airplay, etc…
Is there a way I would be able to listen to the audio through other devices?
I am brand new to Audacity and the whole process.
Thank you for any help!

In the Device Toolbar, can you select your bluetooth headphones or airplay in the Playback Device dropdown menu?

Thank you for responding!
I got the airplay to show up!
I am getting an error message with the Bluetooth headphones—
Error opening sound device.
Try changing the audio host, playback device, and the project sample rate.
I really appreciate your help, as I said I’m totally new , but am trying and really want to navigate this correctly.

OK…
And now I can’t play though the computer when I switch back to “built in output” any longer.
I’m not really sure what I did to change it to airplay either.

Audacity is known for not playing well with bluetooth playback devices on Mac.

Can you go to System Preferences > Sound > Output and select the bluetooth headphones? Do you then get playback through them from (for example) iTunes? If you then open Audacity and set the playback device to the bluetooth headphones, do you still get the error message?
