mono stereo

Help for Audacity 2.x.x on Mac OS X.

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".


Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

mono stereo

Hello all I am new to Audacity. On the drop down I only have 1. mono available... how can I get 2. stereo? Thanks! :D

You can duplicate a mono track,(Ctrl+D), and make stereo track of the identical pair, but that's just dual-mono, which sounds exactly like the single mono track.You have to apply a stereo-effect if you want to add some 3D-ness, e.g. Pseudo Stereo.
