CMD instead of CTRL in Online Manual

I started working through a tutorial linked from the home page for the online manual for Audacity 2.2.2.

The instructions for contracting a selection instructed to use shift-ctrl with the left and right arrows. There was no additional instructions to use cmd instead of ctrl on MacOS. I figured it out by trial and error.

Should I report this as a documentation error or something? Where are issues with the documentation reported?

Thank you!

Here is fine - I do most of the editing of the Manual these days :sunglasses:

Which page or pages are you referring to - can you post a link or links please ?
BTW I can only make corrections for the Manual for the next release (the upcoming 2.3.0) - once a release is made the Manual for that version is frozen and cannot be changed.

Thanks,

WV

The manual does already say in the shortcut reference

Other Tips and hints:

  • Mac users: > > Ctrl > = > > and > Alt > = > Option> . So, for example, > Ctrl + Alt + K > = > ⌘ + Option + K> .

I don’t think it would be practical to repeat that every time a shortcut is given.

I probably agree, but we do do it in a fair number of places (Gale, RIP, was very keen on doing so).
