copy from usb cassete tapes.What is exact process windows 10

I am a very basic problem ,I am using a usb casse.te player plugged into UBS PORT 3. trying to copy to computer and make cd'c.
apparently I have no idea on correct process. I read read and read directionfdollow as best as I can.I end up with no sound. Imust admit years ago I had no problem now I complete a copy of tape.
