Need a Selection Tip

Post by edwinn » Thu Feb 08, 2018 4:28 pm

What I'd like to do is set the cursor at a certain point, then make a selection exactly 0.5 sec to the left, and likewise make another selection exactly 1.25 sec to the right of the cursor. What combination of keys and functions would you use? or what custom hotkeys?

Thx,

I'm pretty sure you can do that with the time tools at the bottom of the Audacity edit window.

I probably wouldn't do it the way you said. I'd back up the cursor 0.5 sec and then roll the selection 1.75 seconds forward.

Ok thanks, yeah I had it down a year or so ago for a couple of days but can remember now.

Seems it was using the Time Tools, typing in the exact segment length.
Let's play around with it some and get the procedure documented here.
