Audacity 2.2.1
I can overdub yet I can't hear the live input. I can't even hear the live input generally.
I've followed my hardware suggestions and Windows settings. I just figured that this board was active enough to try asking.
Overdub is on, software playthrough is off.
Help with the monitoring issue would be greatly appreciated.

What are you trying to record and what hardware (in particular, what audio device / sound card) are you using?
