I bought a new laptop and had to download the current version of Audacity (2.2.0) This laptop has Windows 10. On the old version of Audacity, when I wanted to select big portion of an audio file, I could click on where I wanted to start and then hold the mouse down and when I hit the end of the window, it would automatically scroll the audio file that direction until I released the mouse. The new version does not do this. Is there some setting that has changed that I can set to do this. It takes much longer to edit an audio file when you can only select what is in the window displayed.
Thanks,
Stan
New version does not automatcally scroll left and/or right

Re: New version does not automatcally scroll left and/or rig
You have to hold down the "Ctrl" key whilst using the scroll-wheel on the mouse to zoom in/out.swbeck wrote: On the old version of Audacity, when I wanted to select big portion of an audio file, I could click on where I wanted to start and then hold the mouse down and when I hit the end of the window ...
Alternatively use the zoom tool
Re: New version does not automatcally scroll left and/or rig
It's a bug in Audacity 2.2.0. It has now been fixed, and the fixed version is available as Audacity 2.2.1 RC2: viewtopic.php?f=46&t=97903swbeck wrote:The new version does not do this. Is there some setting that has changed that I can set to do this.
I would recommend trying this version as it contains several bug fixes. If you do so, please send us your feedback in this part of the forum: viewforum.php?f=68
