Hi, so I'm using Audacity 2.1.3 on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I used the.exe installer.
I had 2.0.3 and it worked fine until today... when it stopped working. I clicked to turn it on and it hung. You could see it in the processes list in the Task Manager, but nothing there.
I went to the Audacity site and downloaded the new version, and, having removed the old one, put the new one in place, replacing preferences. Still doesn't work, only this time you get the little box with the Audacity logo that hangs, and does nothing until I close it via Task Manager. Any ideas?
Audacity doesn't open, at all

Re: Audacity doesn't open, at all
Did you restart the machine in the middle? I don't think Win7 had two different flavors of shutdown, but we're finding problems with programs "filling up" your machine and slowly starving it.You could see it in the processes list in the Task Manager, but nothing there.
...........
I went to the Audacity site and downloaded the new version,
Did you do a Windows upgrade or any other change just before it failed the first time? Do you have your machine set for Windows Auto Update?
