I was recording a file just fine, and then when I went to do a pick up, it completely stopped working on me!
The cursor and blue line show up, but will not move.
My rates are fine, my recording devices have been enabled and disabled -it does not matter what the input is, it hasn't recorded anything.
I have an audition due in an hour and I'm VERY frustrated.

Re: Cursor won't move
Try rebooting the computer.
If that does not work, tell us which version of Audacity you have (look in "Help >About Audacity"), what sort of microphone / pre-amp / sound card you are using, and attach your Audio Device Info... to your reply. See here for how to attach a file to your forum post: viewtopic.php?f=49&t=64936

Re: Cursor won't move
sorry, I meant to do that, but someone showed up at my door, and I was flustered lol
I did restart, and it did make it work. But... is that something that happens regularly, because it's never happened to me before, and cannot reboot every time!
My version is 2.1.3 and I'm working on Windows 7. I was using a Scarlett 2i2, but as I said, it refused to record off any device. Here is the rest of the info:

Re: Cursor won't move
It's better to save and attach the complete Audio Device Info as Steve requested. Please see how to attach files to forum posts.

Reboot regularly if you want to use a USB audio device for extended periods. Don't get too ambitious with the project rate. 96000 Hz will exhaust the USB device sooner than 44100 Hz.bean420 wrote:I did restart, and it did make it work.
