"could not create autosave file"

Post by Xerlome » Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:22 pm

Windows 7
Audacity 2.1.1

When I do a usual amplification, the message now always comes, "could not create autosave file". The amplifications are successful. What is wrong?
I find that the error message comes with any change or edit I make in the project. It doesn't happen on another project I have open.

Export the project or each track therefrom as WAV.

Import the WAV files into a new project and save that as a new Audacity project with a different name.

Upgrade to Audacity 2.1.3 from http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows.

I have been facing the same issue in version 2.3.1 in Windows 10.

I managed to solve those issues by adding Audacity to the authorized apps list, following the following instructions.
- Search start menu for "Controlled folder access" and open its settings
- Click "Allow an app through Controlled folder access", and add Audacity
- Problem is gone
