How To Take Out Marimba, And Keep Piano?

Post by Alexk492 » Thu Jan 12, 2017 9:34 pm

Excuse me if I should post this at the education forum, or if the answer is right in front of me. I'm quite new to audacity, only used it once. Please explain everything as I don't know how to use Audacity very much.

I have a solo upcoming in Band class, I will be performing 'Scrumpy' on the Marimba. The only problem is, I don't have someone to play the piano with the song, nor do I even have the music for it. I found a few videos of someone performing the song on the bells or marimba on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNnuxCNe80I and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLbstJ1ov4w.

Is it possible to take the MP3 song, and edit out the marimba using Audacity, that way I have the piano by itself? How would I do it?

No, Audacity can't do that.
