Can no longer detect FFmpeg

The only other issue I have with audacity (2.12) is that it says it cannot see my avformat-52.dll. But mp3 is good enough. Also tried 53. Tells me “failed to find compatible FFmpeg libraries”. Even dropped them into c:\

We don't make "2.12". Always download Audacity from
http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows.
If you have upgraded to 2.1.2 from earlier than 2.0.6, you need to download the later FFmpeg 2.2.2 according to this
FFmpeg FAQ.
Use the FFmpeg 2.2.2 installer "ffmpeg-win-2.2.2.exe", do not change the installation path then 2.1.2 should detect the new FFmpeg automatically.
