Re: pause button issue
If you touch the P key on your keyboard by accident this will activate Pause. P is the shortcut for Pause.
If you want, you can go to Edit > Preferences..., Keyboard section. Type "pause" (without quotes) in the Search box. Then click on "Pause" in the list to select it and press the Clear button. Then pressing P on your keyboard will not Pause.

Re: pause button issue
If it's a USB turntable, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable and make sure it is tight at both ends. Also consider changing the cable.
Then reboot your computer.
Make sure Transport > Sound Activated Recording is not selected (not ticked).

Re: pause button issue
If it happened during the fade-out, is it possible that you've selected the sound activated recording option?...almost at the end of the side of the record.
Record the last song again?what can I do now?
