Basic question: when I select and section of audio to trim to, putting the cursor in the track field and selecting a time range, area highlighted dark grey, and then click the trim tool, nothing happens. Similarly I can't get the cut tool to work; nothing happens.
Also, my basic editing functions (cut ,copy, delete, paste, etc.) greyed out in the dropdown menu.
Any ideas?
I've learned how to use the spectral editing function and plot summary, etc. from online, but can't get the basic tools to work once I highlight anything.
I downloaded v. 2.12, and I'm working from Windows Vista.

Ensure that playback is stopped (not just paused). If in doubt, click the Stop button.
