No sound records from Skype

Post by RadioInfidel » Sun Sep 18, 2016 5:12 pm

Am using Windows 10 , newest version of Audacity.
Greetings, we are new using audacity we are a podcast that switching from Spreaker.
We set up the Skype, last night it recorded fine.
Today we attempt to add a USB headset that we couldn't get to work so we switched back to old headset non USB changed all the servings back in comp, Skype and Audacity and now it doesn't record Skype, you can hear obvious dead air but no words, and it records our voice fine
WE are,hour numb 4 now trying, ANY HELP screens hots for all the proper settings would be GREAT as there seems NOT to exist on web.
Thanks in advance

we are a podcast that switching from Spreaker.
Because they are a paid service?

Because there are no perfect, stable settings to record Skype on Audacity. We recommend one of the Skype Recording programs such as Pamela, and even Pamela has trouble with some computer systems.

I recorded a test podcast successfully, but I did it with two computers. You may need to zoom your browser wide to see both of them.

Denise is four time zones away, and that is plain, ordinary Audacity on the left-hand computer.

Once you get good enough to have a following, that seems to be the way to go because it's stable and reliable show after show. That's how Pando Podcast does it.

Skype is rough to record. They change sound settings in your computer when and how they feel like it.

Or perhaps because the podcast contravenes Spreaker's Terms of Service:
User Submissions Prohibited Uses. In connection with your User Submissions, you further agree that you will not: (i) publish misrepresentations that could damage Spreaker or any third party; (ii) submit material that is unlawful, defamatory, libellous, slanderous, threatening, {word rejected}, obscene, vulgar, harassing, harmful, hateful, abusive, racially or ethnically offensive or is otherwise inappropriate;
