I did read the faq, but I am a real newbie here, so I hope you don't mind me asking.
I recorded my project on my laptop, but I want to edit it on my desktop.
I just copied the folder onto a flashdrive, but when I try to open it on my desktop, it won't open the project, it wants to open individual files.
So, I should export the project? Will that affect my ability to edit it when I open it on the desktop?
I'm currently using windows 7 on my desktop, windows 10 on my laptop and I have Audacity 2.1.2
Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Newbie needs help transfering projects between computers
This is an Audacity Project.

Unless you have both parts and in the same folder or directory, the show is not going to open. Double click the AUP file and Audacity should launch and open the show. Do not rearrange or rename anything. That may kill the show.
Do not put the AUP file inside the _DATA folder.

Thanks.
Yeah, I was so careful to make sure I got the data folder, I didn't even notice I hadn't got the actual project file.
That seems to have fixed it.
Thank you!
