What's wrong? Noise?, distortion? no bass?, etc.?

What is the original source? Are you listening to the original source and the recording on the same speakers/headphones? Apples-to-apples?

One possibility is that your computer or audio player software has some "enhancements" such as an equalizer, etc., applied during playback. In that case, you'd be recording exactly what you're hearing including the enhancement. The same effect/enhancement would be applied a 2nd time when you play back the recording, and then there's a difference...

For example, if you're boosting the bass you'd be recording the boosted bass. Then you play-back the recording with the already-boosted bass and it gets another bass-boost during playback. (But, I don't think that's supposed to happen with WASAPI Loopback.)

It is much better to attach a PNG or JPG screenshot directly to the Forum, then we don't have to log in to Dropbox to download the image in order to see it. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=64936.

As far as your screenshot goes, if you are listening to what you want to record in headphones, it may be better to set the recording device to headphones (loopback) as you have done, but also set the playback device to headphones.
