Selection Toolbar hidden outside Audacity

Post by davethewave » Mon Dec 28, 2015 5:36 am

I think I should uninstall Aud and reinstall because at the very bottom where it shows
project rate ,selection start, end length, audio position is hidden behind XP's tool bar.
When I minimize Aud that section stays put.
I want to be sure I'm not going to lose any projects in the process.

If you have a problem, please post to the Windows board. I moved your post from "Adding Features".

Please always tell us your version of Audacity (see the pink panel at the top of the page). It is clearer if you don't abbreviate. The current version of Audacity is 2.1.1: http://audacityteam.org/download/windows.

It sounds like you undocked Selection Toolbar. To dock it back into place, all you need to do is View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.

Reinstalling Audacity would not change settings and so would not redock that toolbar, unless you enabled the box "Reset Preferences" when you reinstalled.

Reinstalling (with or without resetting preferences) does not remove your Audacity projects.
