Funnily enough, I am hardly on the phone during the day. Customers nearly always contact me by e-mail and I am constantly looking up words on the Internet.

Is that the same as:

Is the problem "error opening sound device" or something else?

Audacity's WASAPI support is not fully finished, especially for recording from physical inputs. And as Steve implied, WASAPI is less compatible with all sound devices than MME.

You could see if anything here helped: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Relea ... 1.1#wasapi.

Thanks for your answer, Gale.

The question I asked yesterday was about not being able to record the click track so as to adjust the latency.

Today I managed to figure out how to make it work
( I went into Edit, preferences, devices and changed MME to WASAPI and then (for the "recording" box at the bottom) I changed Scarlett in (Scarlett is my interface appliance) to Scarlett out). I can now record my click track.).
However, I had to return to the original setting to be able to record me singing and playing instruments.

Thanks for your link but I have to say, at first sight, it looks a bit too technical for me. But thanks anyway.

Anton
