There is no need to uninstall, but reinstall it with the "Reset Preferences" box ticked (checked) half way through the installer.
Then when you launch Audacity after reinstall, confirm that you want to reset preferences.
Reinstalling it without "Reset Preferences" ticked would not change the Audacity settings.
The default Audacity project rate will now be 44100 Hz, so if you get quality problems with Yeti, remember to change project rate to 48000 Hz when you record with Yeti.

So are you now recording blue waves OK with Yeti or the USB headset? Remember to change the recording device in Audacity as needed, and to use Transport > Rescan Audio Devices if you connect the device after Audacity is running.

You might just be missing some salient step like turning up the recording volume or choosing the wrong recording device.
Make a recording that is a flat line, select a few seconds or all of it and Effect > Amplify... . What amounts are shown in the Amplification and New Peak Amplitude boxes in Amplify?
Also click Help > Show Log... , save the log and attach it for us. Please see here for how to attach files:

Hi Gale,
I want to thank you for all your help. Audacity is working perfectly for me. My problem had nothing to do with Audacity. There is a mike setting in Windows that I did not know about. I set it properly, but it kept going back to zero input; so that Audacity was not getting any sound from my mike Of course, I did not know this. I contacted the Geek Squad, with which company I have a contract. Apparently my computer caught a virus which kept resetting my mike to 0. The Geek Squad got rid of the virus, and my problem is solved.
All this time I thought the problem was with Audacity. Sorry I put you through so much. But I do appreciate your willingness to keep helping me.
