Effects settings won't save

Help for Audacity on Windows.

Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".

Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Effects settings won't save

Effects settings won't save. The dialogue box opens; I click to save, but the folder shows empty afterwards, other than the subfolders that are already there.

Please read the pink panel at the top of the page and give us the required information.

Which effect(s) exactly are you talking about? Are you talking about the Manage button in an effect, then exporting a preset?

As a wild guess, try adding the extension that is required to the name. So if you are saving an XML file, add

Code: Select all

.xml

to the end of the file name.
