Re: SteelSeries Siberia v2 Headset Audacity
Oddly, this isn't an Audacity problem. If the headset driver software makes the microphone and headphone available to Windows, then Audacity will be able to select them and use them for recording and playback. Probably alone. I'm guessing you can't do that and use it for a game or anything else at the same time.
So look for the headset in Windows Control Panels, make sure it's there as individual record and play devices, and then open Audacity.

Does a similar thing appear in Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices? Sometimes you need to get Mono/Stereo right for Audacity to see your devices. I have one microphone that requires a mono setting to work at all and another microphone that doesn't care a bit.

Re: SteelSeries Siberia v2 Headset Audacity
Look in the Windows Sound Control Panel. Can you get a good level from the microphone on the input meter in the recording tab? If not, then you will not be able to get a good level in Audacity because Audacity gets its input from the computer sound system.
With headset mics, the position of the mic relative to your mouth is very important. Often the best position is as close as possible to the corner of your mouth.
