Timer Recording

I'm using windows 8.1, Audacity 2.0.6 downloaded as .exe installer.

Audacity timer record doesn't work correctly. It started recording approximately 4 hrs and 50 minutes after it was set to start. It did not stop recording after the end time. This feature worked correctly in previous versions of audacity which I installed on a different computer.

I probably would not be using Audacity 2.0.6. The latest versions is 2.1.0 from here:

It will ask you in the update if you want to remove the preference settings. Say yes.

Is the computer clock correct?

I have gotten bad recordings by typing wrong numbers in the timer settings and then not catching it. I haven't done this in a while, but the old timer used to roll numbers to higher settings and it wasn't completely obvious it was going to do that.
