i have just started using audacity yesterday and i have just one problem that is bugging the crap out of me and i simply cannot figure it out.
im using a windows 7 laptop and the newest version of audacity. my microphone is a usb blue yeti
i mostly record vocals to instrumental tracks that i download which i thought would be simple enough, but i cant seem to find out how to mute myself so it does not playback as i am recording it.
i would like to know how i can record myself while it only plays the instrumental.
ive had trouble searching for an answer on FAQ because i simply do not know the correct wording for what i am wanting to do.
How to Record without hearing yourself

Re: How to Record without hearing yourself
Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording. [X] Overdub should be the only thing selected.
Make sure you're recording from your microphone and not Stereo-Mix or What-U-Hear. Stereo-Mix is the setting used to record internet sound, but you can't do that when you're overdubbing.
