Must I export after applying pitch shift effect? [SOLVED]

Post by vexzilla » Mon Apr 27, 2015 1:48 pm

Do I have to export after applying pitch shift effect or is it directly applied to the file during processing?

Thanks,

You have to Export. Audacity works on its own super high quality internal format and then makes a new sound file through Export when you're done with production.

People make a common mistake of exporting new work with the same filename as the original file. Audacity will do that, but if anything happens to the computer during that export, both the original file and the new work can be destroyed.
