Help i can't no longer register...

Help i can't no longer register...
Hi guys i'm new... i have installed audacity and i start to register some tracks...until he give me a message where he say: "Error while opening sound device. check the settings of the recording device and the sample rate of the project". So i have windows 8.1, i try to search in the internet how i can resolve this problem but unfortunately i can't find a solution can someone help me?
