Streaming Audio, USB Speakers/Microphone
I am having trouble recording streaming audio using Logitech headset with microphone which is USB into the computer. I tried setting Preferences to Windows WASAPI, Playback speakers (Logitech USB Headset), Playback Device Speakers (Logitech USB Headset) Loopback and Stereo. This did not work, just got noise feedback once I clicked on streaming audio. So I then tried for Playback Digital Output. This worked but I did not hear anything through the Logitech Speakers. So I had to go back into Preferences and change from Playback Digital to USB Headset. Then hit play and I could hear what was captured. Is there any easier method then this? Windows 8

But then when you collapsed the recording session, the headphones stopped working, right? You stopped just short of the finish line. Many of the loopback services work by manipulating the soundcard and USB devices don't use the soundcard.
I wonder if maybe WASAPI should have worked.

Re: Streaming Audio, USB Speakers/Microphone
What application was playing the audio? For example the flash player in the web browser can normally only play to whatever the Windows default playback application is at the time.CRoot wrote:I am having trouble recording streaming audio using Logitech headset with microphone which is USB into the computer. Not sure how to respond so I hit Quote and entered this.
On Audacity using the on screen drop downs, I changed the settings to
Windows WASAPI
Digital Output (S/PDIF) (IDT High)
Speakers (Logitech USB Headset)
2(Stereo Recordering)
With Audacity open …
This captured the streaming audio and I heard it while doing so. Yea!!!

Thank you for your feedback. I think a user error on my part. This morning I tried ...kozikowski wrote:But then when you collapsed the recording session, the headphones stopped working, right?
