Specs: Windows 8, Audacity ver. 2.0.6, obtained the .exe
I downloaded Audacity today and I'm excited to start learning how to use it. The only problem that I've run into is that a very large number of options are greyed out and unable to use. I made sure that I read everything carefully in the installer and any pop-up window. I've tried searching around but I can't find anything. I greatly appreciate any help. Cheers!

Many of the options go away if you are in Pause instead of Stop.
Selecting edit points is something of an art.
Left side under Editing Scroll down.
