The only differences are a tweak to the README file and a fix for a crash using ALT + SHIFT + F6 when Analyze > Contrast is open.

"RC" is an abbreviation of "release candidate".

During development, the experimental builds are called "alpha".
When the time comes for a new release, the most recent alpha build will be tested, and and fixed up to remove bugs or features that are 'just not ready yet' to create a version that is potentially suitable for the next release. That is called a "release candidate" ("RC1"). The release candidate will then undergo further testing. If any problems are found they will be fixed up and a new release candidate made (RC2). This continues as necessary until we have a release candidate that we are happy with. The final RC will then be repackaged as the "release" version.
