hello.
i have version 2.0.6 of audacity, working on windows xp platform. i have read various forum topics regarding opening an audacity project but i am still unable to do so. i created a project and saved it to my desktop. when i click to open it up, it says that it cannot locate my data folder nor the project. i didn't rename or separate the data files (.au) from my project (.aup).
at one point, i was able to open the project but my edited audio clips have no sound. it seems like all i need to do is reconnect my media to the clips but the internet has advised me to make sure the data folder and project file are in the same location, which i have done. please help!
your assistance is great appreciated!!
thanks,
moonchild

Re: help, audacity cannot locate my project!
Did you put a dot in your filename? A date? You should have an AUP file and a _DATA folder of the same name. It's Audacity's job to worry about all the little AU files. Some of them aren't sound and you can get in trouble moving them around.
And yes if you have Audacity set to reference external sound or music files instead of making its own personal copies, the music or sound can get detached from the show by accident. See attachment. This is the normal setting. Is this what you have? Selecting the second down will give you a reference project instead of self-contained.

Attach the AUP file if you are still stuck. Please see here for how to attach files: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 49&t=64936.
