I'm attempting to record my vinyl LPs to my PC, but if I record the first track on the record then setup to record another track; it will dub the first track's sound over the one I'm trying to record.
I know I'm doing something wrong, but since this is the first time I've really sat down to use it I dont' know what settings I have wrong.
Off the top - the OVERDUB setting is off in prefferences and in transport.
Thanks for your help

Yes, the overdubbing setting is off, but are you recording from the Turntable? Accidental overdubs like this are almost always caused by recording from Stereo Mix or other service like that instead of the turntable itself. Stereo Mix is "Everything Playing On The Computer." Some versions of this error have dogs barking because the laptop microphone went live in addition to everything else.
Set Audacity to record strictly from the turntable, usually by Device Toolbar settings.

As I said in my first post. This is the first time I have really attempted to use the software to record my LPs.
I was trying to listen to what tracks I had recorded and it would try to play all tracks.
When the music was exported eveything sounding just fine.
Thanks for the tip on the devices.

Each time you press Record, Audacity will start a new track just down from the last one and try to play them both at once when you're done recording. You can separate them with the SOLO and MUTE buttons on the left of each track.
